No Muscle Up Today

But, I did 125lb Bench for 8 reps and a pretty fun WOD at CFR.  If I can get my bench up 10 more lbs (for 47 more reps!), and my weight down 10lbs more, I'll be "Linda" ready.  Definitely an attainable goal by Christmas.

Still have strict HSPU's, but my PLU's are feeling ridiculously weak. My grip just isn't there. Not sure if it's still fatigue from the "hundreds" and team workouts last week, or if I've just lost a bit of what I had.

Food for today - light on the calories this morning:
breakast - about 3 oz of roast & gravy with some cucumbers. Coffee & cream
late lunch - about 4 oz of roast & gravy with some cucumbers (I'm not very creative today)
snack - passionfruit iced tea (unsweetened) from Starbucks and paleo choc pudding popsicle
supper - 2 bunless burgers with saurkraut, pickled peppers, mayo, mustard and jalepenos on top + MDA's creamy cauliflower

Going to a movie tonight and packing my own nuts and drink.  Good day.

Food on the Road

Spent the last day and a half in S'toon for work.  Food yesterday, awesome.

Breakfast - Chris made me eggs before I left
Lunch - packed chicken breast, tomatoe, and apple
Snacks - nuts
Supper - went to my Dad's place and had maple syrup & dijon mustard glazed salmon and bbq'd veggies.  Delish!  Some white wine too. Yummy German Riesling in a super cool turquoise bottle. Avante Gard, I think

Travelling + home cooked meal = happiness :)

Food today, started good, went downhill fast.
Breakfast - 3 egg omlette (room sevice)
Lunch - went to a work bbq. Options were hamburgers or hotdogs.  No plates, forkes, knives or spoons. So, went for a burger with a bun.  Had a mini ice cream too
Supper - an entire pack of gas station pepperoni sticks.  Not too bad
2nd Supper - came home to a perfectly cooked roast, best gravy ever, and our last bottle of Merlot from the Okanagon.

Haven't gone for a wod since Tuesday, so feeling pretty blah.  Back on the veggies tomorrow!!!

Seriously, already?!

I've been back on track for 3 days now, and have already completely lost it.  Well, not completely, but I had to try really really hard to keep it together today.  Started out okay, then went downhill quickly

Breakfast: 3 hard boiled eggs (thank gawd for planning ahead)
Lunch: nothing
Snacks: nothing
Kelly = STARVING after a crazy busy day at work
Late afternoon snack to prevent from passing out: 2 timbits
Snack on the way to gymnastics (where we were already 15 minutes late): nuts/dark choc/raisens
Supper at home 9pm: chicken and sweet potatoes
And, some white wine.

Tonight, I anticipate not enough sleep, another long day tomorrow at work, then on the road to Saskatoon, and another long day after that.  Good news is that I get a home cooked meal in S'toon tomorrow. Salmon, courtesy of Dad & Joy.  Love it and looking forward to it!

No more wod's until Saturday, but committed to keep my diet in check as much as possible while not at home.  Not eating from 8am - 9pm is NOT a good idea for me!

Food Log

"300" WOD at CFR today.  I feel good, but the wod felt brutal. My hands/shoulders/lats are still recovering, so PLU's and floor sweepers were tough. Feel like I have a long way to go to be in decent shape for S'toon.  Could be because I've inched my way up to 147 lbs (yikes, just weighed myself!), which makes those pullups pretty darn heavy.

Breakfast
coffee & cream
blueberries & bison roast

Lunch
steak and cabbage/onions

Snack
3 pieces dark chocolate
brewed iced tea

Snack
few bites of chicken post wod

Supper
hamburger/pork stir fry with bok choy and celery
coffee & cream
paleo chocolate popsicle

My 3 and 6 Month Goals

I'm back in and I have some goals.

#1. Don't embarrass myself at the 3rd annual Prairie CrossFit Challenge in Saskatoon
#2. Do Linda rx'd with 132lbs before Christmas

Thank you Matt Bathgate for your kind words and good advice at the Spring Fling. I'm going to pay some extra attention to diet and recovery over the next few months, and we'll see if a little extra glutamine can help with the recovery woes I've had in the past.

Beyond Christmas, I see 10 consecutive HSPU's, consistent muscle ups, and pistols on either leg.

Chris - this means NO MORE ICE CREAM!!

Today's food:
Coffee with cream
Chicken with feta & blueberries - breakfast
Chicken with feta & carrots  - lunch
2 pieces dark chocolate
Home made iced green tea
Home made popsicle (HCAnge's chocolate pudding recipe, frozen = YUMM!)
Bison roast with salad - supper #1
Chicken with feta & braised cabbage/onions - supper #2

Feeling refreshed and very happy :)

Got Dirt?

We get our fruits and veggies from the incredible folks at Body Fuel Organics. Once/week we pick up a pre-packed bin that has $60ish worth of fresh produce in it. We tell them what we want and don't want and every week there is far more variety compared to when I used to shop in a regular grocery store.  Downside - there's no Starbucks at BFO, but I still get by.

The biggest difference I've noticed in the produce that we get (other than the hug me kiss me goodness of the strawberries this time of year!) is that their is DIRT on my produce.  Yes. That's right. Dirt.  It's on the lettuce, the carrots, and sometimes even the celery.  It gets in my fridge, it gets in my sink, and it gets on the floor.  And I love it!!  This is real food, from the real ground, covered in real dirt.

Why is there never dirt on Safeway produce?
